One of the saddest days that hit the tabletop games industry was when Rackham Miniatures, the folks behind the very (very) fine Confrontation game, went into liquidation in 2009.
Those miniatures were of an incredible high quality, and the game behind them was a complex, nuanced game system that had a small (evidently too small) and loyal fanbase.
In the press release, Vincent Fontaine, artistic director of Legacy Miniatures and former paint director of Rackham Entertainment, said “we’re starting out slowly and doing about two to four releases a month, some miniatures were never saw production before Rackham closed its doors.”
Working with CoolMiniOrNot, these new releases and re-releases of old favorites began at Gencon 2011 Indy, with the never before seen Hydra and the rare Flesh Golem making their debut. The plan currently is for limited runs of just 200 though, so you need to be quick.
"Obviously we’re thrilled," said David Doust, co-founder of ColMiniOrNot in a release. “Although we handle beautiful miniatures every day, there is something special about Confrontation. We’re looking forward to all the new goodies!"
